PowerPoint: Pan Am Flight 214 Memorial Presentation

Posted on December 16, 2013 by admin

To honor the memory of those on Flight 214, JoAnn & Alan Gardner, volunteers at the Historical Society of Cecil County, developed this memorial presentation.  It was to be shown on the 50th anniversary of the crash at the Remembrance Program at Singerly Fire Station, but a sudden snow storm prevented many people from attending the program.  Since many people were unable to attend as travel conditions were dangerous, we are sharing the program on the Net.

This is a very well put together video of that long ago crash of Pan-Am Flt. 214…..I lived in New Jersey at the time of the crash but remember seeing it in newspapers and television…..I heard many stories about this crash during my last 48 years living in Elkton…..I think the Town of Elkton and it’s citizens have done a very good job presenting this to the families of the deceased and the people of Elkton who were either not born yet or were to young to remember this tragic event…..Thank you Mike Dixon and Historical Society for this presentation…..Bill Sickles

Thanks Bill. Jo Ann and Alan, two of our volunteers, put together the PowerPoint. We were hoping you could make it up to Station # 13, but the snow made travel almost impossible.

Thanks Judy. Jo Ann was talking to some more family members from the Philadelphia area Monday when they stopped in. hey weren’t able to make it Sunday and they too mentioned how much they appreciated the presentation.
